Bolton Metro Xmas Sprint Meet

Sunday 7^th December saw Bobcats at Horwich Leisure Centre for this level Three meet. It turned out to be one of the most successful galas for many years with Bobcats winning many medals and lots of encouraging performances from the younger swimmers. We were also the top visiting club .Many thanks to the coaches for their efforts and also parents for their fantastic support, but special thanks to the swimmers who were a great credit to themselves and Bobcats.

Stockport Metro Meet 28/29/30 November 2008

A small squad from Bobcats attended the prestigious Stockport Metro meet on 28/29/30 November 2008.This is one of the highest profile club meets on the swimming calendar with clubs from as far afield as Glasgow and Portsmouth competing, as well as big name swimmers such as Keri-Anne Payne, Katy Sexton and David Carry.

Potential Olympians Gala, Salford

Bobcats took a 28 strong squad to Salford for the 2008 Potential Olympians Gala on 25/26 October.For many of the younger swimmers this was their first experience of competing at this level.Their efforts in the water were matched by their enthusiasm on poolside.Congratulations to Emily Cott,Ashleigh Dibb and Marsha Banks who came away with medals.Also well done to James Beck,Erica Minozzi,Thomas Shaw,Luke Pickles,Kerry Holding,Georgia Thompson and Alec Sharpley who all gained places in finals.

ASA British Masters 2008,Sheffield

Two of our Masters swimmers were in action at Ponds Forge,Sheffield on 24/25/26 October.

Mark Preston swam in five events and PB'd in four.

Bob Lindsay competed in the 1500m freestyle coming 4th in his age group category(35/39) in a time of 18:10:68                             .

Teaspoon Gala, Sheffield

Several Bobcat swimmers attended the 20th Teaspoon Gala at Ponds Forge, Sheffield on 21 September 2008.

Congratulations to Josh Finch, Marsha Banks, Ashleigh Dibb,Emily Cott,Joseph Gillam,Hayley Thompson, Lewis Fox and Jack Workman who all won a prized teaspoon.

Also a special mention to ‘Veterans’ Bob Lindsay, Mark Preston and Mark Goodwin who competed impressively as ‘Golden Oldies’.
